The New Season Begins

Hello Watchers of Wrestling

Today we are going to have a relatively short blog. By now you all know that WrestleMania was last Sunday, and I’m sure you have all seen the big news from the event. The Hardy’s returned, Brock Lesnar finally defeated Goldberg, and the Undertaker lost again, and left his gloves, coat, and hat in the ring, and probably retired.

So we won’t do a Mania review. Instead we will just go over of few things that I found interesting about the Raw and SmackDown after WrestleMania.

From Raw, Fin Balor is back, and it looks like he is in top form. Could he be the next challenger for the WWE Universal Championship? Only time will tell.

Nya Jax turned on Charlotte. Does this mean she is a baby face now? I sure hope not. I think that she should be the monster heel that Braun Stroman is. I think that she should rule over the women’s division for at least 6 months. That way if Bayley or Sasha Banks beats her at SummerSlam, or Survivor Series, it will be so worth it.

Speaking of Braun Stroman, he got in the face of the new Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. I am not sure if Lesnar will be a full timer now that he is champion again, so my real question is what will they do with Stroman?

The Hardy’s are back and on Raw. I was hoping we could see the Broken Hardy’s but it does not look like that is where we are going, at least not yet.

Kevin Owens took out Jericho for what looks like an extended period of time. Too bad, because he was doing some of his best work. Hopefully it won’t be too long.

Now over to the blue side……SmackDown
I loved seeing AJ Styles and Shane show each other respect. I know I said I was not looking forward to their match last week, but I was pleasantly surprised. That may have been the best match of the night. Other matches have more meaning, but these two men brought the whole arena to their feet with the lengths they were willing to go to entertain.

I have to say, as someone who was a big fan of him from 2006-2011, I am bored with Randy Orton. If he is not a scary heel who kicks people in the head, he is just not that interesting.

I’m glad Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss in their rematch. I would like to see Naomi move on to someone else. Let’s see what she can do as champion. For years she was one of the most athletic women on the roster, and with the addition of Charlotte a few years back, I think we lost sight of how incredible she can be.

Lastly we saw the call up if you will, of two new guys from NXT: Ty Dillinger, who I am not all that familiar with, and Shinsuke Nakamura who is the former NXT champion. Now I will admit I am very much behind on my NXT. I am trying to catch up so I can see where all of these guys started from. But I have seen some of Shinsuke’s matches with AJ Styles when they were in Japan, so I know that he is big time.

So here we are. We have started our journey for the next year of WWE wrestling. I am so excited to see where this takes us.

I will be doing something a bit different guys, I have thought of some things I can write about, and will be dropping new blogs throughout the week. Not every day, but a few times a week. So let me know what you think. And I am on twitter. You can find me @blackwrestlingg.  Until next time you wonderful people.

Wrestlemania!!!!!!

Hello watchers of wrestling

So here we are……..it is WrestleMania. Tonight is the night. The biggest night of the wrestling year. We will all be watching tonight to see what the WWE has in store for us. The night that all of the stories come together, and we see where we will be going for the next year, and sometimes for the next half decade or so. Last night I put up a blog (I know for the first time in forever) where I talked about what was going on in the Smackdown setup to Mania, so I will not be getting back into that. Today is a good old prediction blog. So let’s get right into it.

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Mickie James vs. Carmella (with James Ellsworth) vs. Naomi for the SmackDown Women’s championship.
It seems like Naomi had a real injury, and that is why she was taken off of TV for the last month or so. But since she has gone out of her way to tell the whole world that Mania is in her home town, I think she is going to take the title back tonight. Now I don’t think she will keep it for long, but I think tonight is her night.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson (c) vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Cesaro and Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Championship in a ladder match.
A Tag Team Title Ladder Match!? Sounds so promising. Now this is a match where five of the six competitors are all pretty big guys, so this should be an interesting match to watch. We are not used to seeing the bigger guys have tag team ladder matches. With that being said, I think that all of these teams can make this work. The three teams have been going back and forth pretty much since Gallows and Anderson won the titles at Rumble. I feel that it is time for brand new tag team champions. Enzo and Cass will win the belts tonight.

Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Baron Corbin for the Intercontinental Championship.
You all know how I feel about both of these guys. I am not impressed. These two bore me to no end. I honestly think this will be my popcorn match (the match where you don’t watch, but you go and get popcorn). But hey, someone has to win this match. I think that Corbin has been getting a huge push since he debuted and I think that will start with him getting the IC title tonight.

John Cena and Nikki Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse.
I think there are a lot of good things that have happened to set up what we will see tonight. The total divas spoofs that Miz has been doing have been some of the best TV leading up to mania on SmackDown. As you all know, I think Miz has had an excellent year since winning the IC title the day after Mania last year. I think that he has brought the IC title back into the spotlight (notice that you have not really seen a lot of it since he lost it) and he deserves a main event push. But going back to this match, I think that Cena and Bella will win this match. They are the baby faces in this match and it seems like they are headed for a victory.

Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries for the Cruiserweight Championship.
I think this may be the match of the night. Now I will be the first person to admit, I am not really into the cruiserweights. I did not watch the Cruiserweight Challenge and I do not watch 205 live. But with that said, I have watched the last 2 title matches on pay per view, and man, they were excellent. So I think this match will showcase two guys who can really go. I believe that Aries will take the belt this time.

We have a lot of matches according Wikipedia, so I will try to speed through the rest.

Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s championship.
You all know how I feel about Bayley and her title run. I wish that we would have a different match than this, but this is what we have. So I honestly think that WWE is going to keep this Bayley thing going tonight, although I would not be surprised if Sasha turns on Bayley for the title. But my official pick is Bayley.

Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles.
I think that this is going to be a win for Shane. Shane needs to win this match to prove that he belongs in this match. Styles does not need to prove anything. He has proven himself in the last year and a half. Shane wins.

2017 André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
I think that Braun Stroman will win this match. This is normally the match where the big strong monster wins.

Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens for the US Championship.
This one looks like it might be the Kevin Owens Show. I don't see any reason for Jericho to keep the title. Owens can continue to defend it like he did with the Universal Title. So Owens will win this one.
Seth Rollins vs. Triple H.
I see Rollins winning this match. Triple H has been beating Rollins up for the last three months, and tonight is his night to get some payback.

The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns.
There are a lot of people on the internet going back and forth about the outcome of this match. This is Undertaker, and he is 23-1 in Wrestlemanias, but his time is almost up. So is this the time that he goes out with a loss and passes torch to Reigns? And Reigns is obviously the future of WWE and maybe even the present. So who wins? I think that Taker will win tonight.

Goldberg (c) vs. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) for the Universal Championship.
This is going to be a good one. I don’t think this is going to be the squash match that the last few Goldberg matches have been. I think this will be a typical Brock Lesnar suplex city match. I say anywhere between 15-20 German Suplexes, and a 10 minute match, and the crowning of a new Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship.
I feel like this is the most obvious match. I don’t see any reason for Orton not to win this match. He won the Rumble, and he turned on Wyatt for some reason (read my previous blog), so there is no reason for him not to win.

Wow guys, there are a lot of matches for this show. I will not keep talking you to death. Let’s just enjoy the night and see where we go from here. Enjoy my friends.

At the time of publishing, I am already 0-2. But that goes to show the unpredictability of Wrestlemania.

Can I be honest about something?

Hello watchers of Wrestling.

We are coming up to the most exciting time of the year, WrestleMania weekend. This is the time of year that we all look forward to where we see our favorite superstars on the grandest stage of them all (hyperbole much? I know I know, but go there with me).

I know I am normally the positive person when it comes to wrestling and I love just about everything that comes out, and I am willing to let WWE show us what they have in store. Most times it turns out to be something we all like, remember that time you all were upset about the Daniel Bryan being buried thing only to have him win the WWE World Championship at WrestleMania? That’s what I’m talking about. But this time I have to speak out about something.

Now I know that I am going to say something that will totally go against what most of you out there believe to be. From the beginning of the brand split back last summer we would all say that SmackDown Live(why do they keep saying live, we all know the show is live) has been the best brand. From AJ Styles, to the Miz, to the new Usos, to Heath Slater becoming a tag champion again, SmackDown, Talking Smack, and their exclusive pay per views, have been must see TV for WWE. So it is with a heavy heart that I say they, but I hate the set up for the SmackDown matches at WrestleMania.

Now must of the matches seem like they have come out of nowhere, and I honestly am kind of bored by them. Now I am not one of these people who will talk this noise, and watch silently, and hate on it in my blog. I will watch, and enjoy the fact that I am entertained for a 33rd time by WWE’s biggest show of the year, but I just have to let this be known.

Let’s start with the Women’s title match. All of the women in one match, welcome to the 2008 women’s division where they can throw all of the women in a match just to make them feel good. I think the Smackdown women deserve more than this. Yawn.
Then we have the Baron Corbin vs. Dean Ambrose match. Am I the only person who does not care about the Intercontinental title since Dean won it from Miz. Oh yeah, this is for the IC title. Are we all ready to finally admit that Dean Ambrose is just not a good wrestler. He is not. He started off as a Heath Ledger’s joker knock off, and now, he is just a guy that wrestles in jeans and a tank top. He does not look like a superstar, he is just a guy. Double yawn.

John Cena and Nikki Bella vs Miz and Maryse. Now you all know how much I love the Miz and Cena, but this is terrible spot for these guys to be in. Why did you give Cena the belt at Rumble for him to lose it a month later. Why not have him win it, and Miz win the Rumble, or just have him not win it. Either way, this is not the spot for you 16 time champion and the guy who with AJ Styles has made SmackDown the show to watch for the last year. And am I the only one who thinks that John and Nikki look super awkward on screen. Seems like they are trying too hard to look like a real couple. Like they broke up in real life, and they are keeping up appearances.

AJ Styles vs Shane McMahon. This is one that has most of the internet going nuts. And I have to admit, I agree with the internet for once. Styles has come in and taken the WWE by storm in a little over a year, and this is the thanks he gets? Not the main event, not a title match of any kind, but a due that last time we saw him in a match he was knocked the F out, and we were all scared for him, and his family who was sitting ringside. I wish he would have been in a better match than this.

And lastly the WWE title match Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt. Wyatt has had the belt since elimination chamber, and the reason for him to have the belt is…….I guess so he could give it to Orton. Now Orton is a multi-time champion, so why is he getting the gravy train to yet another WWE title. This should have been a spot for someone else. Hell this would have been great for Wyatt. But why have Randy join the Wyatt family, to then say after winning Rumble, and Wyatt winning the title, Randy saying that he will not fight the master, to then have him burn down some house that makes no since. This all seemed very very weird, and forced, and out of nowhere.

Like I said before, I will be watching Mania live, like I have since I bought the network. But I must say I am not looking forward to the SmackDown matches. But like I try to tell you all, let’s just sit back and watch the show and see what happens.
