Congrats John Cena!!!!!!!

Hello readers of wrestling
So you all know that I don’t normally respond to the results of the pay per views right after they happen, but I feel like I should comment on something. John Cena won his 16th World Heavyweight Championship. Ordinarily I would not mind that. As you all know I am a huge fan of John Cena. You can look up my old blog (themain-event.blogspot.com), and see that I have said nothing but glowing things about John Cena. I think he has come a long way from the guy who in my opinion was given the WWE championship just because he was popular amongst kids. But I feel like in the last 11 years he has done everything to earn our respect, and not just that, he has turned himself into one hell of a wrestler. But for him to tie Ric Flair is something I thought would never happen. Flair has done so much for this business (not that Cena hasn’t) that I thought this would be something that would be scared to WWE, and they would not allow this to be tied. And I think that AJ Styles has been so good that he deserves to have a long run with the title. I don’t see how putting the belt back on him makes any sense. But hey, I don’t make the rules. Now don’t get me wrong I think the match was amazing, not the match that they had at Summerslam, but I think it was still worth the price of admission, I just think that it would have been better to keep the belt on Styles, and keep the record on Flair, but that is just one man’s opinion. Congratulations John Cena.

Royal Rumble

Hello readers of wrestling

Happy New Year! I know that it has been a long time since I have written a blog. I will not bore you all with the reasons for that; just know that I have been watching wrestling and it is the most wonderful time of the year for us wrestling fans, Wrestlemania time. With that said I have predictions for the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble. And like I said before guys, this is a wrestling blog, and I know I have been talking about WWE a lot lately, but I have been paying attention to a lot that is going on in the wrestling world and will comment on them soon, including “Broken” Matt Hardy, Adam Cole, and Kenny Omega.
                So without further ado:

Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, and Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, and Natalya: Six-woman tag team match: This seems like a throw away match. They figured they would just throw a match in with most of the women on SmackDown. They could have gone with a singles match between Nikki and Natalya, since they have been feuding for the last few months, and Becky vs Alexa for the Women’s Championship, again because they have feuding, and it would have made sense. But for some reason they said “let’s just throw as many of our women in a match as we can”. The unfortunate thing about doing that, is you make this match a popcorn match (a match that is thrown in the middle of a card so you can either get popcorn, or go the bathroom), because no one cares about this match. But with that said, I guess I will go with Lynch, Nikki, and Naomi.

Cesaro and Sheamus (c) vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson: Tag team match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship: The Club (Gallows and Anderson) has been going after the tag team title since they arrived at WWE almost a year ago. Sheamus and Cesaro have been thrown together to make sure they both have something to do. They did finally end the New Day’s title reign, but since then they have done nothing, and have been pretty much irrelevant. So I will go with the Club to win the tag title (Man I wish they could get to SmackDown where they can revamp the entire Bullet Club, and not just a couple of guys).

Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax: Singles match: WWE loves Sasha Banks, and they have not booked Nia Jax that well. She should be destroying women, but the last match we saw her in, she was losing to Bayley. So with that said, I am sure they are going to have Sasha go over in this match.

Rich Swann (c) vs. Neville: Singles match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Since coming back from injury, Neville has been very intriguing. He has called himself the king of the cruiserweights, and he has been beating guys up to stake his claim. Well I think that he will cement his claim, by beating Rich Swann tonight for the Cruiserweight title.

Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Bayley: Singles match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship: Charlotte has not lost a WWE pay per view. Bayley has beaten Charlotte the last 2 times they have faced each other, so what gives? I think that Charlotte keeps the title. Charlotte is a big money player, and I think you have to keep the belt on your big money player going into Wrestlemania.

Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns: No Disqualification match for the WWE Universal Championship Chris Jericho will be suspended in a shark cage above the ring: If I were being honest with you guys, I have to say I am tired of seeing these two guys wrestle. It just is not doing anything for me, and I am waiting to see a reboot for both of these guys. I think Kevin Owens will win this match, and will go into Wrestlemania still the WWE Universal Champion.

AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena: Singles match for the WWE Championship: Now this has the potential to be the match of the night. At Summerslam, they may have had the match of the year. And this one is for all the marbles, the WWE Championship. I am looking forward to seeing these guys bring the house down one more time. I know Cena is going for his record setting 16th World title reign, but I don’t think he gets it tonight. Just like I think with Owens and Charlotte, I think that Styles retains and goes into Mania as the champ, and he will face……..

2017 Royal Rumble match: There are a lot of guys that have been announced as participants in this year’s Rumble match. One of the best things about the Rumble is seeing all of the surprise entrants. As a matter of fact I was in the house in the Georgia Dome where Edge made a surprise return, so I know all about those. And who could forget last year when AJ Styles graced us with his presence. But since I do not read other blogs, or any spoilers, I don’t know who could be coming back, so I will choose from the guys that I know who are in. So the man who I pick as the winner of this year’s Rumble, and the match who will headline Wrestlemania in a classic match versus…….AJ Styles (that gives some of it away, I am picking a SmackDown guy) will be…………………..Dolph Zigler. Yes I think Zigler will do it, and I think these 2 guys will have a spectacular match at Mania.

So there are my picks guys (full disclosure, I just finished watching Nia Jax beat Sasha Banks, so I am 0-1). Let me know what you think. Got to go watch the Rumble.  Until next week.
